Wiggins and Doctors Pass Maintenance Project
Wiggins Pass
The project is to conduct maintenance dredging of the Wiggins Pass navigation channel to continue to train the straighter alignment. Approximately 65,100 CY of beach compatible sand isto be dredged fromthe ebb, flood and tributarychannels above thedesign cut while unsuitable material is to be avoided or disposed of off site. Channel depth ranges from-7.0 ft. to -12.0 ft. NAVD with a 1’ overdredge allowance. Excavated compatible sand will be disposed of within two of the permitted areas onshore Barefoot Beach and onshore Delnor-Wiggins StatePark.
Doctors Pass
Dredging of Doctors Pass with placement of the material on the beach at Lowdermilk Park between R-60 and R-61+800 south ofthe inlet. If the Lowdermilk Park template is filled to its maximum capacity, or atthe COUNTY’s direction, excess fill shall be placed near shore between R-58A and R-58+400’. Both the interior and exterior channels require dredging. There is no overdredge limits on the interior cross sections.There will be approximately 25,700CY of material that can be dredged and placed on the beach at Lowdermilk Park.
