Honeymoon Island
Project involved dredging approximately 151,010cy of beach compatible material from two barrow areas within the vicinity of Hurricane Pass. This material was used to renourish parts of the northern portion of Honeymoon Island state park.
Material was hydraulically pumped 24hrs a day at distances upwards of 9000ft from the barrow area to the beach fill template. The dredge used in performing dredging operation was the Brittyn B an 18" Ellicott 1270 cutterhead dredge.
In addition to the placement of beach compatible, we removed several hazardous objects from the beach, planted 10,000 sea oats, raked and tilled the beach upwards of 36" deep.
During the course of this project we maintained manatee watch protocols, turbidity monitoring, as well as, abided by daily sea turtle and seabird monitoring.

Wiggins and Doctors Pass Maintenance Project
Wiggins Pass
The project is to conduct maintenance dredging of the Wiggins Pass navigation channel to continue to train the straighter alignment. Approximately 65,100 CY of beach compatible sand isto be dredged fromthe ebb, flood and tributarychannels above thedesign cut while unsuitable material is to be avoided or disposed of off site. Channel depth ranges from-7.0 ft. to -12.0 ft. NAVD with a 1' overdredge allowance. Excavated compatible sand will be disposed of within two of the permitted areas onshore Barefoot Beach and onshore Delnor-Wiggins StatePark.
Doctors Pass
Dredging of Doctors Pass with placement of the material on the beach at Lowdermilk Park between R-60 and R-61+800 south ofthe inlet. If the Lowdermilk Park template is filled to its maximum capacity, or atthe COUNTY's direction, excess fill shall be placed near shore between R-58A and R-58+400'. Both the interior and exterior channels require dredging. There is no overdredge limits on the interior cross sections. There will be approximately 25,700CY of material that can be dredged and placed on the beach at Lowdermilk Park.

Grand Canal Muck Removal Project
It is the most complicated local dredging project to date in the county's $486 million Indian River Lagoon cleanup plan, officials say.
On June 18, 2019, Gator Dredging based in Clearwater, FL entered into a contract with Brevard County for the "Grand Canal Muck Removal Project". This 3.5 year, 26.5-million-dollar project is a part of the "Save Our Indian River Lagoon" initiative.
The specific focus of this project will be to improve water quality and the surrounding environment through the removal of approximately 479,000 cubic yards of nutrient laden muck from a 97-acre area of the Grand Canal waterway system on the Banana River.
The Grand Canal system is a tributary to the Indian River Lagoon (IRL). The organic sediment will be hydraulically dredged, dewatered through a specifically designed facility, and disposed of off-site. The dewatered material will be reused for agricultural enhancement.
Lake Seminole Restoration Dredging
A county contractor has started a dredge operation that will remove about 900,000 cubic yards of organic sediment from Lake Seminole in Pinellas County, Florida, as part of the Lake Seminole Restoration Project.
Lake Seminole is the county's second largest freshwater lake, a critical part of the watershed and a major amenity for recreation and nature enjoyment. Accumulated sediment has contributed to persistent water quality problems and habitat degradation. The three-year dredging operation will remove about 54 tons of phosphorus and 311 tons of nitrogen, reducing nitrogen loads by 56 percent in Long Bayou and Boca Ciega Bay.
